According to their report, the weekend wind storm led to scattered power outages all over their service area. Valley Electric Association line crews rolled out beginning at 5:20 am Saturday morning and continued to answer various weather related outage calls all through the day. The last VEA crew returned to headquarters at 12:15 am Sunday morning. All power was restored with more permanent equipment repairs to be completed as time allows. Storm-driven lightning strikes and high winds that blew trees and other debris into power lines caused significant damage to VEA transmission and distribution poles and wires. VEA members in Fish Lake Valley, Beatty, Pahrump and Sandy Valley all experienced power outages from the wind storm. Those 10 separate storm-related incidents led to a number of outages to more than 230 members at some point during the day.
